Welcome...
Victims of Crime Trust (VOCT) was established in 1994 with the aim of providing care and assistance to victims who had suffered as a result of serious crime and raising awareness of victim's issues.

In 1996, due to the increasing size and the growing recognition of overall victim's issues, VOCT decided to specialize solely in the provision of helping the secondary victims of homicide.

Our aim is to support any individual who has been bereaved by murder or manslaughter. This is achieved through ensuring they receive appropriate help at their time of need, in order that they can have as much normality restored to their live as possible. The Trust also represents the collective interests of secondary victims to Government and other bodies.

The Trust has two full time members of staff who determine individual client's needs, and prepares a comprehensive 'package of help'. This holistic service is unique to VOCT, and covers areas including compensation, legal advice, counseling, respite breaks, trial attendance. Much of the 'package of help' is actually delivered by other organizations and individuals, with VOCT acting as overall facilitator and as the client's personal representative.
